I’m so glad I didn’t finish Eugenides’ The Marriage Plot on my honeymoon. This sentence is a severely unwelcome wedding announcement. It almost makes me want to stop reading. And in a book about manic depression, it’s super sad that the introduction of a marriage is the most depressing line of the book. So far.
